Fruity on the nose, then more spice in the taste, whereby the fruit aromas and sweetness also come through on the second sip
Category | WHISKY |
Brand | BENRIACH |
Country/Region | SCOTLAND |
ABV | 43% |
Nose | "initially a lot of fruit in the nose; light fruits (ripe pear, fresh apricot, yellow apple) with powdered sugar. Hints of honey and caramel that become clearer over time. A little cinnamon comes out. Light herbal notes in the background." |
Palate | "Quite soft at the start and with very spicy aromas (cinnamon, nutmeg). The fruits are there, but they are somewhat suppressed by the oak aromas. The tongue and mouth are quickly dried out. A slightly bitter note emerges (dark chocolate), but luckily it does not turn into bitterness." |
Finish | Medium-long finish with the light fruits and especially the spicy aromas. Oak becomes a bit more dominant at the back |
