| Nose | Caramel and raisins through the middle, with orange pith, the beginnings of old rancio, and forest aromas of bark, earth and damp leave. |
| Palate | is similarly gently understated, feeling a bit thin at points. Sumptuous fruit to start, again with very ripe red apples. |
| Finish | Long, barley-rich, awesomely smooth, very little oak. |
