L'ENCANTADA 1974 DOMAINE LE SABLE 40,1% 50 CL 1974 50 CL
$135.19
The finish of this vintage armagnac from Domaine le Sablé, produced entirely from the Baco grape, displays a quite remarkable maturity and depth. It carries you away on a light breeze, that suggests the arrival of chilly winter weather with evenings by the fireside sipping a venerable eau de vie. The powerful character of the terroir comes through with notes of ceps and truffles, while its more elegant side offers heady florals (roses and peonies).
Profile: empyreumatic (cedar, lime blossom), floral (lilies, peonies, roses) and spicy (pink peppercorns, cloves). Fruity (apricots, passion fruit, persimmons) and rich (crème brûlée, rum baba).

Tasting Notes
Nose | Refined and complex. The initial impression is empyreumatic (cedar, lime blossom), floral (lilies, peonies, roses) and spicy (pink peppercorns, cloves). It then becomes very fruity (apricots, passion fruit, persimmons) and rich (crème brûlée, rum baba). Its exoticism shines through, complete with spices (ylang-ylang, turmeric). |
Palate | Full-bodied, rounded. Amply fills the palate, offering a wide range of fresh fruit (apples, pears, peaches, plums). The mid-palate has lots of personality, and radically changes direction with notes of cucumber and courgette, liquorice sticks and ginger root mingling with aromatic plants (rosemary, savory) and honeyed notes (lime blossom). |
Finish | Long, soft, particularly evolved. The fruit becomes candied and the roses slightly wilted. Autumn has arrived (ceps, truffles). Gradually notes of vanilla and coconut bring freshness. The retronasal olfaction is generous and fruity (apricots and mangoes) while the empty glass has a fragrance of saffron. |
