MORTLACH RARE - 50 Cl
$73.02
The first release from the new range of Mortlach single malts is the Mortlach Rare Old, which comes from a mixture of Sherry and bourbon casks. Those familiar with Mortlach through the Flora and Fauna release might know Mortlach as a bit of a Sherry monster, but this new bottling brings to light a complex, warming and spicy side of Mortlach's personality.

Tasting Notes
Nose | Sugary biscuits (maybe Nice biscuits), baked apple and crushed nuts. Fudge and herbal, leafy notes persist. |
Palate | Rich and full of palate entry, with spicy notes of cinnamon sticks and oak. Then there's vanilla, raisin and biscuit-y notes paired with dark jam (Jammy Dodgers?). That leafy, earthy note from the nose continues on the palate too. |
Finish | Warm and drying with cinnamon, pepper and vanilla. |
