THE ANTIGUA DISTILLERY 2012 HEAVY 66% 70 CL 2012 70 CL
The Antigua Distillery Heavy 2012 is a rum with an unusual level of congeners due to the standards of the Antigua distillery. For the record, Luca Gargano went to AntiguaDistillery on June 20, 2017 in search of a nugget in the stocks of the distillery. Luckily, due to a break in the coffee still column of the distillery, the vinasse remained longer in the fermentation tank, generating an abnormally high rate of congeners for the standards of the distillery. The 27 barrels have not escaped Luca and which give an extremely tasty rum with a high alcohol content of Vol. 66% ABV. The Antigua Distillery Heavy 2012 does not hide all the flavors that this rum has to offer, it is a pure rum without addition.
|Category||Rum & Cane|
|Brand||La Maison Du Whisky|
|Nose||Intense and delicious. Powerful release, the citrus fruits take off, starting with the lemon, its zest and the zest of grapefruit, bitter orange jam. It is very cereal:: wheat and oats, oily sunflower seed. Smoke, toasted new wood and tobacco. Herbaceous and vegetal, this rum is a UFO on the nose.|
|Palate||Powerful and complex. Heady and spicy. Peppers (black pepper) and citrus fruits (mandarin, yuzu,…) intermingle. The wood also brings its share of aromas (vanilla, cereals, etc.). The longer you keep it in the mouth, the more the vegetal side emerges to prepare a persistent finish.|
|Finish||Persistent and spicy Medium length on citrus zest and black pepper, the persistence is long on peppermint. Hot and spicy. Notes of bitter orange, tobacco and smoked end up overwhelming this rum.|
