Genepi is a general term given by residents from the Alps to several aromatic Alpine plants. For mountaineers, it is a tradition to harvest these flowers in August and macerate them in alcohol. Each mountaineer has his own “secret” recipe for Génépi. The Chartreuse Monks, who have been distillers for four centuries, have their own secret Génépi recipe, derived from several macerations and distillations. This unique process allows the Alpine plants to truly explode with flavour.

Country/Region | OTH/OTH |
ABV | 40% |
Nose | Fine, precise. Ashes and lemon (lime) escort notes of smoke and peat. The latter turns out to be vegetal and herbaceous, rather dry. It evolves on grapefruit (yellow), liquorice and barley during fermentation. Rubber and tar are also part of the game (delicately). |
Palate | Rich, smooth. Much fatter than the nose would suggest, it is salty and salty. Much more present, the peat gives it impetus. To tell the truth, it wins in everything: in finesse, in density, in thickness. Notes of liquorice stick and smoked fish make your mouth water. Superb. |
Finish | Relaxed, surprisingly serene for her age. Like an old sea bass, it is pipe in her mouth that she looks at the ocean. Luscious, juicy with its notes of ripe pear, it continues on "four-leaf" clover, that goes without saying. |
