Nose | A delicate liquorice and oily peat pierces through notes of William’s pear, very ripe mango and Mirabelle plum jam. |
Palate | Firm, powerful. Radically different from the nose, the attack offers much drier, almost ashy peat (twig). The mid-palate is then intensely malty. Gradually, the white fruit from the nose resurfaces, giving the end of the palate a pleasant, invigorating freshness. |
Finish | Long, silky. Now the peat and malted barley appear together in perfect harmony. Nonetheless, notes of ash and lit tobacco underscore the upper hand taken by its phenolic character, without allowing it to crush the end of the palate. A very original note of cucumber then arrives on the taste buds. Without changing a bit, the empty glass precisely reconstructs the initial nose. |
