Situated in Dufftown right in the heart of Speyside, Kininvie is one of the more recent distilleries in Scotland since it only started to produce whisky in 1990. It has its own malting floors. Up until now, its single malt was used only for William Grant & Sons blended whiskies. You will realise how regrettable this is once you have tasted the second batch of this 23 year old, a frenzied tribute to one particular type of citrus fruit: the lemon.
Profile: subtle, creamy. Lemon in all its guises: as zest, sharp juice or lemon meringue pie. Notes of malted barley and exotic fruit (pineapple, banana).

Nose | Sweet, sugary fruits and deep syrupy goodness. Spicy, ripe peaches being torn open, vanilla, a little kiwi, hints of that Sherry. |
Palate | More peach, with cream at first like a Campino sweet, before becoming more removed from the central sweetness with gentle oak building. All fairly light, but full of flavour. |
Finish | A little bigger and longer than expected with more sweet syrup notes. |
