2016 marks the 200th anniversary of mythic Islay distillery – Lagavulin. To celebrate, the distillery has decided to go back to its traditional roots and take us through a journey to discover the distillery history. Back in the 1880's, the journalist Alfred Barnard visited the distillery and fell in love with an 8 year old expression which he described as 'exceptionally fine'. According to him Lagavulin was one of the only distillery capable to produce such a quality Single Malt. A subtle reference to this story, Lagavulin distillery decided to recreate 200 years later this 8 years old limited edition.
