Mars The YA (Yakushima Aging) is a whiskey produced in small batches and aged on the tropical island of Yakushima, with its many rivers, forests and mountains.
As with version #1, this version #2 is a Japanese blended malt whiskey composed solely of single malts from the Mars Shinshu distillery and the Mars Tsunuki distillery. For the first time, with this second edition, Mars offers a peaty version of The YA.
A taste of sun-ripened fruit, combined with a sea breeze and smoky notes transport us to the mystical mist-filled forests of Yakushima.
Yakushima Island has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993. The climate is warm and tropical with a high humidity percentage. This extreme climate also gives Mars a different aging environment than Shinshu and Tsunuki with a higher share of angels.
