The Powers John’s Lane distillery was renowned for the quality and character of its flavourful pot still Irish whiskeys. It used to make Powers Gold Label, which was for a long time one of Ireland’s most popular brands. Now a single pot still, this whiskey pays homage to this past.
With the creation of a dedicated appellation, this Powers whiskey has become a “Single Pot Still” (all the current pure pot stills come from a single distillery; it was therefore decided to highlight this fact, in the same way as the Scottish distilleries with their single malts and single grains). Mainly matured in first-fill bourbon casks, Powers John’s Lane 12 Year Old also includes some whiskey finished in sherry casks.
