Noval Tawny 40 years is a blend of old Ports of different vintages, raised in oak wood all their lives, with an average age of over 40 years. The grapes of Quinta do Noval are trodden to obtain the must, then during fermentation in the lagares, traditional stone vats of the Quinta. Noval has remarkable concentration thanks to its slow evaporation for more than 40 years in contact with wood. The aromatic range has grown enormously. The presence of the original wine is of course discreet but still there, as a signature of the Noval style. “A light amber color, complex and extremely rich bouquet with notes of nuts, mint and almonds with a fleshy style, sweet and rich in flavors, an attractive aroma of rancio and a long finish” describes António Agrellos.
